Hannah Hembree Bell – Guiding Texas Families Through Divorce

For many family law attorneys, the path to divorce work begins with an interest in litigation or advocacy. For Hannah Hembree Bell, founder of Hembree Bell Law Firm PLLC, the path was much more personal. Her own experience navigating divorce and a difficult custody battle shaped not only the kind of lawyer she would become, but the kind of law firm she would build.
Today, Hannah leads a growing family law practice serving clients across Central Texas, from Austin to San Antonio and north to Waco. Her firm focuses exclusively on family law matters, including divorce, custody, and related planning such as prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. But beyond legal representation, Hannah’s mission is to help people emerge from divorce with dignity, stability, and hope.
A Personal Journey That Shaped Her Practice
While attending law school, Hannah went through a divorce and a challenging custody case. At the same time, she was managing the demands of law school, parenting, and the emotional realities that often accompany major life changes. The experience gave her a firsthand understanding of what many clients face when navigating divorce while still balancing work, family responsibilities, and the uncertainty of what comes next. It also instilled a deep empathy for her clients’ situations, shaping the way she guides families through each step of the process.
After graduating from law school, Hannah began her legal career practicing employment law at a large firm. Although the work was meaningful, she realized that her personal experience had given her a perspective that could help families facing similar challenges. She eventually made the decision to start her own practice with the goal of providing thoughtful guidance and practical support to people navigating divorce and custody matters.
“I’ve always taken what I call a ‘little c collaborative’ approach to divorce. I am focused on helping real families get through this process with as little conflict as possible while still protecting what matters most to them. Divorce is already hard enough, and my goal is to guide clients through it in a way that allows them to move forward with dignity and stability.”

As the firm grew, Hannah built a team culture grounded in excellence, integrity, service, and teamwork. The firm’s collaborative environment allows attorneys and staff to work together to support clients during complex and often emotional cases. While the legal issues involved in family law are serious, the firm also prioritizes creating a supportive environment where clients feel heard, informed, and empowered throughout the process.
“I started my firm because I wanted to be the kind of lawyer I wished I had during my own divorce. Going through that experience while in law school gave me a very real understanding of what clients are facing emotionally and practically. I wanted to build a practice where people feel supported and receive practical guidance that helps them make good decisions for themselves and their children.”
Beyond her legal practice, Hannah has also created resources designed to support individuals through the broader transition that often accompanies divorce. She hosts the podcast Not Saving It For Later, where she explores topics related to personal growth, relationships, and navigating significant life changes. She also founded My Confident Life Circle, an online women’s circle that provides community and encouragement for women moving through divorce and into the next stage of their lives. For those preparing for divorce, Hannah offers My Confident Divorce, a preparation course designed to help women better understand the process and approach it with greater clarity and confidence.

“I joined the Amicable Divorce Network because I have always believed in a collaborative approach to divorce, and ADN brings together professionals who share that mindset. It is a community of attorneys and other professionals who want to help families resolve divorce in a healthier way. Being part of a network like that allows us to support clients better and connect with others who are committed to the same values.”
